An Awfully Grand Adventure

It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you mind be swept of to.
— J.R.R. Tolkien

Today, Jack and I went on a very grand adventure!

Well, not really grand; we went to Lowe's with my husband... But I imagine in the mind of our little guy, it was a pretty fun adventure.  He would point at everything with eyes wide, trying to fathom the purpose of everything. He was especially interested in the a certain can of stain. Apparently he is a fan of mahogany, ha!  On every aisle we turned on; Jack and his bunny were taking it all in.  (He can't go anywhere without a stuffed animal, and his bunny is one of his favorites, lol!)

I am often reminded of the quote that I wrote above from Lord of the Rings; yes, I am a HUGE LOTRs fan!  (Team Aragorn!)  This quote has sounded over and over in my head since I first read it, and I have found that it is especially true when you have a toddler.  To them the entire world is still fresh and new, a simple stick on the ground suddenly transforms into a magical toy.  And a store, such as Lowe's, holds all sorts of wonder for their young eyes!

While I watched Jack, with all his wonder and amazement I had to capture a few of those moments.  I know it won't be long before the magic will fade away before his eyes.  So until then, we will continue to go on our awfully grand adventures!
